On 17 June 2026, the RISE – Resilient Communities project brought together 115 practitioners from across Europe for an online workshop focused on community-led disaster preparedness, recovery and long-term resilience.
The workshop explored how communities can better anticipate risks, respond effectively to crises, and rebuild in ways that strengthen social connections, local systems and environmental resilience. Through project presentations, case-based insights and expert contributions, the event highlighted practical approaches to disaster preparedness and recovery, including community leadership, digital tools, participatory methods, infrastructure rebuilding and sustainable local action.
